    K. Onur Unutulmaz

    Assistant Professor

    K. Onur Unutulmaz (PhD, Assistant Professor at ASBU) has received his master’s degree in Migration Studies and doctorate in Anthropology, both from the University of Oxford, in 2009 and 2014, respectively. Dr. Unutulmaz also has an extensive experience in large-scale international and national research projects, which include the Horizon 2020 Project “Adult Education as a Means to Active Participatory Citizenship (EduMAP)”, 2016-2019 ( www.uta.fi/edumap); “Syrians Barometer”, 2018-2020, funded by UNHCR Turkey, “Global Muslim Diaspora: Muslim communities located in “non-Muslim” countries”, 2016-2018, which was funded by the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), Organization of Islamic Cooperation; and, “Assisting Turkey in Developing a National Integration Policy”, 2016-2017, which was carried out by International Organization for Migration (IOM) Turkey Office and Turkish Directorate General of Migration Management.

    Şule Şahan

    Research Assistant

    Şule Şahan (MA, Research Assistant at ASBU) received her BA and MA degrees both in International relations from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University in 2012 and 2017, respectively. Ms. Şahan is currently enrolled in the PhD program in International Relations at ASBU, where she also works as a Research Assistant.

    Şeyma Begüm Kaya

    Second year undergraduate

    Şeyma Begüm Kaya is 21 years old. She completed her primary, middle, and high school education in Osmaniye. She graduated from Osmaniye Tosçelik Social Sciences High School. In the academic year 2021-2022, she began her undergraduate studies in the International Relations department at Ankara Social Sciences University. She is currently in her third year at the university.

    Sinem Sümeyye Okutucu

    Third year undergraduate

    Sinem Sümeyye Okutucu was born on December 9, 2002, in Sinop. She is currently continuing her education in the International Relations Department at Ankara Social Sciences University.

    Gülşen Boz

    Third year undergraduate

    Gülsen Boz is 21 years old. She is a third-year student in the International Relations department at Ankara Social Sciences University.

    Zehra Badur

    Second year undergraduate

    Zehra Badur is a second-year student majoring in International Relations (English) at Ankara Social Sciences University. She is an active volunteer at various organizations, including the International Drop Volunteers Association, the Green Crescent Ankara Representation, the Turkish Red Crescent Community Center, and AFAD. Additionally, she is a founding member of the Idea Platform community at the university. Within the International Relations and Diplomacy Research Society, she holds a position in the management unit. Zehra is proficient in English and Kurdish and has a basic level of proficiency in Chinese. Furthermore, she has gained translation experience through her voluntary participation in various international organizations.

     

    Ibrahim Hussein Ibrahim

    Third year undergraduate

    Ibrahim Hussein Ibrahim is a 22-year-old student at Ankara Social Sciences University, International Relations department. I take pride in being fluent in four languages: English, Arabic, Turkish, and Amharic. When I’m not immersed in my studies, you’ll often find me on the football field, enjoying a swim, or exploring the great outdoors through hiking. These activities fuel my passion for both physical fitness and the serenity of nature. I’m dedicated to my academic pursuits and value a well-rounded, active lifestyle, embracing every opportunity for personal and intellectual growth.

    Zeynep Güsta Arık

    MA student

    Zeynep Güşta Arık graduated from Bilkent University’s psychology department in 2022. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she served as a research assistant at various institutions such as Bilkent and Koç. For the past two years, she has been providing consultancy and training on EU projects to various associations, institutions, and universities. She coordinates international projects in the fields of health, digital transformation, and migration. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in Migration Studies at Ankara Social Sciences University.

    Sevgi Zeynep Göker

    Second year student

    Sevgi Zeynep Göker is a second-year student in the International Relations (English) undergraduate program at Ankara Social Sciences University. She completed her primary, middle school, and high school education in Edirne.

    Hilal Mercimek

    Second year student

    Hilal Mercimek is a second-year student in the English International Relations department at Ankara Social Sciences University.

    Zümrüt Büyük

    Third year undergraduate

    Zümrüt Büyük is 21 years old. She is a third-year student in the International Relations Department at Ankara Social Sciences University.

    Şevval Kaya

    Second year undergraduate

    Şevval Kaya was born on November 20, 2002, in Istanbul. After completing his primary and secondary education here, he moved to Sakarya in 2015. He completed his high school education at Sakarya Yunus Emre High School. In 2020, he started his studentship at the Department of International Relations at Ankara Social Sciences University and is still continuing. International Relations-second year.

    Nisya Amalia Agusti

    MA student

    Nisya Amalia Agusti is an MA student in the International Relations department at Ankara Social Sciences University. A protagonist, extrovert, intuitive, sociable, and an observer. Interested in public speaking, interpersonal abilities, and the humanitarian field. Enjoys working on either multitasking or focusing on one task, systematically, dynamically, either individually or in a team. The world is my workplace!

    Ümmügülsüm Bektik

    Second year student

    Ümmügülsüm Bektik was born in Aksaray on 28.08.2001 and completed my primary and secondary education in Aksaray. I graduated from Ankara Hasan Ali Yücel Social Scientist High School. I am currently a second-year student of International Relations at Ankara Social Sciences University.

    Efe Can Özbay

    Graduate student

    Efe Can Özbay was born on March 5, 1999, in Istanbul. After gaining admission to the International Relations department at Akdeniz University in 2018, he transferred horizontally to Ankara Social Sciences University in 2019 with the highest-grade point average. He completed his undergraduate education with a 100% English-medium instruction. As of July 2023, he graduated with the highest GPA in his department. Throughout his university life, he took on various roles in student communities and participated in numerous programs organized by various institutions.

    Zeinaba Ahmed Mahamoud

    Third year undergraduate

    Zeinaba Ahmed Mahamoud, a student originating from Djibouti, presently pursuing her academic endeavors at Ankara Sosyal Bilimler University. 

    Proficient in Arabic, English, and Turkish to some extent, I have delved into the intricacies of each language, viewing them not merely as tools for communication but as gateways to diverse cultures. The rich linguistic tapestry of Djibouti has laid the foundation for my ongoing exploration of languages.

    The opportunity to participate in the DigiFolks research initiative is met with genuine enthusiasm. The prospect of acquiring practical experience in the field is invigorating. This engagement transcends a mere role; it is an opportunity to apply my linguistic skills, explore uncharted territories, and make a meaningful contribution to the research endeavors.

    Fatemeh Tajahmadi

    Graduate student

    Fatemeh Tajahmadi born on September 2, 2001, in Tehran, completed her primary, middle school, and high school education in Iran. Her interest in political science grew during high school, leading her to decide to pursue further education in this field in Turkey.

    In 2019, she came to Turkey and began her studies at Ankara Social Sciences University in 2020. Discovering the significance of social relationships during high school, she opened her own social media account during the university process, interacting with people in Turkish, German, Farsi, and English, and providing lessons.

    Having successfully completed her undergraduate studies in three years, Tajahmadi aims to start her master’s studies early. During this period, she conducts research to enhance her expertise in anthropology and strives to increase her knowledge and experience by engaging with experts in the field.
