Julia Doornbos is a cultural geographer and works as a lecturer and postdoctoral researcher at University College Groningen and the Faculty of Spatial Sciences, both University of Groningen, the Netherlands. Her doctoral research centered around the postcolonial everyday geographies of Indo-European families in the Netherlands. Aside from academic output, she worked together with the families from the research to write a book, as a collection of their histories and experiences. Alongside his interests in political science, philosophy, and visual art, his diverse cultural background has encouraged further interest in the DigiFolk project and how to reduce ignorance regarding several minority communities, many of whom are marginalized.
